You don’t need to have it all figured out.
Therapy isn’t about being ready or having the right words.
It’s about making space to listen inward — and to live outward the most authentic life you can access right now.
Hi, I’m Anna.
I’m a counsellor, art therapist, artist, mother, potter, and recovering perfectionist — someone who deeply believes in the healing power of creativity, safety, and human connection, especially when words fall short.
As a Registered Therapeutic Counsellor (RTC #3125) and Expressive Arts Therapist, I work with teens, adults, and elders in English, Russian, and Hebrew — either online across Canada or in my Burnaby studio, a quiet space filled with natural light, art supplies, and clay.
My work is grounded in compassion, resilience, and a lived understanding of what it means to feel like an outsider, to carry invisible wounds, or to long for a more authentic self. I believe that therapy takes courage and vulnerability — and that these qualities, when met with safety, can be profoundly transformative.
My Story
I’ve lived many lives — literally.
I was born in the former USSR, grew up during its collapse, and became a refugee in Israel as a teen. Later, I immigrated to Canada with my partner and two daughters. These transitions brought resilience — but also layers of trauma, grief, and disconnection.
I’ve faced misogyny, antisemitism, anxiety, depression, and burnout — rooted in early childhood trauma. As a young mother in a new country, I learned how easy it is to quietly fall apart inside. My way back was through counselling, parts work, art, clay, movement, art therapy, and years of mindfullness practice.
Healing was not a linear process for me; It still continues today — both in my own life and in my work with clients — where I meet each person with curiosity and compassion, always learning, always growing.
How I Work
My approach blends counselling, Internal Family Systems (IFS), expressive arts therapy, and mindfulness. It’s trauma-informed, non-pathologizing, and shaped by what feels most helpful to you.
Art-making is welcome but never required. Sessions might involve clay, painting, writing, movement — or simply talking and sitting in stillness. I use an intuitive approach and years of experience to gently guide you toward the process that feels right for you.
We follow your pace, your language, and your comfort.
I work with:
Adults navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, creative blocks, midlife transitions, or the impact of emotionally immature caregivers
Teens and emerging adults exploring identity, emotional overwhelm, school pressure, or masking
Parents seeking support for themselves or their child
Elders and seniors reconnecting with creativity or navigating life changes
Younger clients (ages 6 and up) for clay-based expressive therapy, when appropriate for their needs and family goals
Who I Work Best With
I work best with internalizers - curious, sensitive, anxious, strong people who are navigating change, loss, or inner conflict — whether that’s the quiet weight of childhood wounds, the uncertainty of life transitions, or the search for a more authentic way of living.
My clients come from all walks of life: immigrants building a sense of home, parents balancing many roles, people exploring personal growth, and those carrying the unseen impact of global and personal events. I’ve supported Russian-speaking clients processing Soviet-era trauma or the recent war, Israeli clients before and after October 7, and many others facing their own complex realities.
No problem is “too small” if it’s heavy for you right now. Whatever you bring into the room is real, and I’ll meet it — and you — with 100% presence, curiosity, and care.
