FAQs
Frequently Asked Questions
How do you work?
My approach is trauma-informed, client-centered, and flexible. I blend counselling, expressive arts, mindfulness, and Internal Family Systems (IFS), depending on your needs. Some sessions are talk-based, others include creative or somatic elements — we follow what feels most helpful to you.
What does a session look like?
Most sessions begin with grounding and a check-in, followed by exploration using conversation, parts work, or creative tools like clay, painting, or writing. We end by reflecting on what came up.
Not every session involves art — the process is shaped by your comfort and goals.
What is Expressive Arts Therapy?
Expressive Arts Therapy uses art, movement, sound, and writing to support healing and insight. It focuses on process, not product — no art skills needed. It can help you access parts of yourself that are hard to reach with words alone.
What is Internal Family Systems (IFS)?
IFS is a gentle, structured therapy that helps you understand and work with the different “parts” of yourself — like the critic, the avoider, or the inner child.
It’s especially helpful for trauma, anxiety, and inner conflict.
Although IFS is growing in popularity, certified practitioners are still few. I’ll be Level 1 certified in September 2025, and already integrate IFS principles into sessions as appropriate.
What is the Expressive Arts Therapy Package?
A six-session series (60–90 mins each) for deeper creative exploration and therapeutic momentum. We work across multiple modalities, using movement, visual art, writing, and reflection.
Package price: $800
Do I need any art experience?
No. Many clients are trying creative expression for the first time. The goal is connection — not creating something beautiful.
What should I bring to a session?
Nothing is required. I provide all materials. You’re welcome to bring personal objects or journals if they feel supportive.
What are your rates?
60-minute session: $150
90-minute session: $190
6-session package: $800
Group workshops: $35–$45/person (includes materials)
Sliding scale available for students, seniors, and fellow art therapists.
Is therapy covered by insurance?
Many extended health plans cover sessions with a Registered Therapeutic Counsellor (RTC). I offer direct billing via Telus eClaims where possible.
Check with your provider for details.
Who do you work with?
I work with teens, adults, and elders — especially those navigating trauma, anxiety, grief, ADHD (particularly in women), identity shifts, parenting, or creative blocks.
I welcome neurodivergent clients and those from diverse cultural, gender, and life backgrounds.
Do you offer online therapy?
Yes — I offer secure, online sessions across Canada
What’s your cancellation policy?
Please give at least 24 hours’ notice to cancel or reschedule. Late cancellations may be subject to the full session fee.
How long will therapy take?
It depends. Some clients come for short-term support, others for ongoing work. We’ll check in regularly to assess what’s working for you.
Do you offer group workshops?
Yes. I design creative, accessible workshops for communities, care homes, and private groups. Reach out if you’re planning an event or would like to collaborate.
What languages do you speak?
I offer therapy in English, Russian, and Hebrew.
